“As a family that has passed through one of these wards, we are acutely aware of what a traumatic experience it is for the whole family. After coping with the massive diagnosis of cancer, the reality is that the next thought on their mind is, how are we going to cope financially? We offer financial packages that give the families time to concentrate on their children. Practical support, including buying specialist equipment, keeping cars on the road, houses warm with new boilers etc. And importantly, we help with trips away, family time and making cherished memories.”
“Our aim is to end hunger and poverty in the UK. We support a nationwide network of food banks and together we provide emergency food and support to people locked in poverty, and campaign for change to end the need for food banks in the UK.”
We are Hampshire and Isle of Wight Community Foundation, we award grants to smaller community groups in our area to support vulnerable people in need. Since 2007 we have awarded over £10 million in grants to over 3,500 groups.
Our Surviving Winter campaign tackles fuel poverty for older people, when the weather turns chilly we simply turn our heating up without a second thought, but for some people this isn’t an option. The number of excess winter deaths last year was the highest recorded for over 40 years.
Donating to Surviving Winter means we can support older people to stay warm, eat well and remain mobile during the coldest months.
Thank you for your support.
